Recommended Candidates Announced For November 2023 Elections
The Kootenai County Republican Central Committee (KCRCC), the county’s Official Republican Party, has announced the results of their candidate rating and vetting process in the run up to the November 2023 elections.
In all, nearly 50 people chose to voluntarily participate in this process. After filling out 10 questions on our website, completing a background and credit check, each candidate met with our Rating and Vetting Subcommittee for an in-person interview. Candidates are also encouraged to participate in meet and greets where precinct committeemen can spend time with the candidates and question them one-on-one. Following their interview, the whole Republican Central Committee comes together with all of the information gathered by the Rating and Vetting Subcommittee, to discuss their findings and vote on who the Republican Party will be recommending for office.
Please be aware that there are Imposter “Republican” groups in our area that are falsely claiming to be with the Republican Party. They will likely recommend their own candidates for office, and falsely advertise themselves as “Republican” or “conservative.”
Do not be fooled! Always look for the KCRCC Logo on all of our communications to ensure they are genuine.

In order to be recommended, a candidate must receive over 50% of the vote of the whole committee. There are several candidates for office that were interviewed, but failed to obtain more than 50% of the Committee’s support. As a result, there are some races for office that the KCRCC will not be making a recommendation in.
