1. Tell us a little about yourself and your family, how long you have lived in the area.:
My name is Denny LaVe. I'm 49, healthy, and have a fabulous beard. I'm a craftsman and entrepreneur. I take my faith quite seriously and my relationship with God provides direction and motivation. A fuller account of my life story can be found in my memoir, Blue-Collar Blessed, A Humble Life in Idaho. I'm married to Gina LaVe, born McQuade. We have six sons. I've lived in the area 25 years. Gina is a lifetime resident and her family has been in the area around 125 years.
2. What is your educational background?:
I graduated from Bonneville HS in Ogden, UT in 1995. I went on to University of Utah. I switched to vocational training and became a journeyman Ironworker. Over the past thirty years I have widely read and pride myself in the size of my personal library. I have sections on economics, philosophy, history, various crafts, design, etc. Jim Rohn said "Poor people have big TV's while rich people have big library's". I've sort of taken that to heart.
3. What is your occupational background?:
I have nearly 30 years experience in the Ironworking industry. I've been CEO of Precision Precast Erectors for the last 18 years. In that time I've lead the company to five Inc 5000 awards, been recognized at an international level for visionary leadership, and recently was named CEO of the Year for 2026 by the IAOTP. I've also been recognized by the ID Department of Labor for our contributions to Idaho's economy.
4. Do you have experience as an elected official and if so, what was your position, and how would you describe your voting record?: No.
5. Please tell us about your activity as a Republican. Have you previously voted for candidates of other parties? If yes, explain.:
I am a registered Republican voter and have attended many of the KCRCC meetings. I actively support and converse with Congressman Fulcher. I have not voted for candidates of other parties.
6. What is the purpose of government?:
In the broadest sense, government exists to secure the common good of it's citizens. Drilling down, government enforces divinely granted rights, civil rights, and other benefits of being a citizen. The government drafts and passes laws to promote the common good. The government has the duty of enforcing the laws it passes, providing judgement on violations of civil and criminal laws. It provides for the security of the country's borders and defense in times of war. In short, per the Declaration of Independence, government protects the rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
7. Where do our rights as citizens of the United States come from?:
Some rights come from God, like Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Other rights can be granted by the government, such as civil rights. All rights, though, come with responsibility.
8. Describe why you are running for this particular office. What are your qualifications? What are your goals?:
First, I believe, in the depth of my soul, God is asking me to run. Next, our country needs new voices from outside the establishment to move us in a better direction, elected officials that put America First. Third, fifty plus years in government is too long. It's too disconnected from the people and trials they are living through everyday. Fourth, Senator Risch would be nearly 84 years old at the beginning of the next term. Over the past several years we've seen many politicians clinging on to power long after their prime and the disastrous consequences for our nation. I have extensive experience in interstate commerce from running a multistate business. I have experience in contract law. I've run a fiscally sound business for over 18 years. The building trades develop problem solvers and calculated risk takers, people who overcome obstacles and put their life on the line for others, not recklessly but responsibly. We need more people in Congress who will stand up against CR and unchecked budget increases. We need someone to take on the abuses brought about in the health care and insurance industry since Obamacare. We need someone to stand up for farmers and widely diversified agricultural interests.
9. Describe experiences where you are or have been engaged such as non-profit organizations, clubs, churches, boards, commissions, etc., where you have been of service to others.:
I have taught in the Ironworker's apprenticeship, sat on the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee. I've been part of the Holy Name Society at our church, volunteering to help with events over the years. For the last four years I've coached lacrosse at Immaculate Conception Academy, helping boys from 5th through 12th grade learn valuable life lessons.
10. Do you describe yourself as fiscally conservative? Please, elaborate.:
I am fiscally conservative. I am appalled at the national debt and the lack of reigning in spending. It's an affront to our citizens to burden them with massive debts in order to subsidize and support foreign nations. Further, I don't support the forever "wars" and regime change actions which have killed and wounded tens of thousands of our best and brightest over the past 25 years.
11. Do you consider yourself as socially conservative? Please elaborate.:
I am socially conservative. I'm prolife, pro-family, and patriotic. I believe marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. I believe in the wide spread private ownership of capital and means of production. I'm against the "Nanny State" and forms of "hyper Safety Culture". I oppose the transgender agenda for our children and the mutilation of our children by surgical and chemical means. I'm opposed to giving up our sovereignty to the UN, International tribunals, or any other transnational organizations.
12. Describe which party platform best aligns with your positions on public policy (Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Constitutional Party) and where do you disagree with that platform.:
The Republican party platform best aligns with my beliefs.
13. Do you have ANY history of tax liens, criminal record, bankruptcy, or conflict of interest (personal or professional)?: No.
14. Describe how you will make yourself available to your constituents and vote as their representative with FORTITUDE, adhering to the values and answers you have stated above.:
My life has been a training ground for fortitude. Strength to follow my God, courage to overcome obstacles and disaster. Willingness to take on difficult projects, to raise a family, to start a business. As to how constituents will reach me, all the usual channels will be open: in person, phone, email, etc. In sum, I believe I am the best choice to represent the great state of Idaho and all Idahoans in the Senate.
