Resolution: 2025-0916Title: Honoring The Legacy of Charlie Kirk and Conservative Values

WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated by a single gunshot while talking to students at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025;

WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk lived out his faith boldly with conviction, courage, and compassion as an effective,compelling, and competent speaker for the Christian conservative American worldview firmly fixed on the gospel ofJesus Christ and the indisputable truth of God's created order;

WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk inspired millions of America's youths with open debate, free expression of conservative values, and peaceful assembly exemplifying how to respectfully debate opponents with dignity even when he was treated with contempt;

WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk was a fierce defender of the inalienable rights found in the Constitution and affirmed God's creation of two biological sexes, right to life, traditional families, the Second Amendment, personal moral responsibility, freedom of speech, and national sovereignty;

WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk formed a powerful national organization that effectively motivated, trained, and equipped others to courageously live out their beliefs publicly;

WHEREAS, Charlie Kirk applied his Christian convictions to every area of his life while being an example as an ambassador to the youth and America at large; and

WHEREAS, We recognize Charlie Kirk as a martyr who unapologetically and eloquently lived out his beliefs despite the consequences with the bravery that has inspired millions to speak truth with dignity, respect, and to be courageous in standing firm in the faith while seeking unity and peace when possible; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee (KCRCC) honors the life, leadership, and legacy of Charlie Kirk, whose steadfast dedication to the Constitution, civil discourse, and Biblical truth, inspired a generation to cherish and defend the blessings of liberty;

RESOLVED, That the KCRCC condemns in the strongest possible terms the assassination of Charlie Kirk and those who would label the conservative Christian worldview with malicious rhetoric to incite violence even to the point of murder;

RESOLVED, That we, the KCRCC, call upon elected officials, community leaders, and citizens to reject violence as a political tool and instead uphold peaceful, constitutional and lawful means of political debate and activism;

RESOLVED, That the KCRCC commits to follow the inspired example of Charlie Kirk, to speak the truth, debate with dignity and respect, and courageously defend our Christian conservative values and our Constitution;

RESOLVED, That the KCRCC requests the Kootenai Board of Commissioners, at its next scheduled meeting, observe a moment of silence to honor Charlie Kirk; and

FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be sent by the KCRCC Secretary to President Trump, to Governor Brad Little, Idaho's U.S. Senators and Representatives, Idaho State Legislators, the Kootenai Board of Commissioners, and to the 2026 Idaho GOP Winter Meeting.
